How to Setup a Domain Redirect in cPanel

So what is domain redirect?

Domain/URL Redirect is a technique for moving your websites visitors to another website from the one they intend to visit. For example, when your site visitors visit, they’ll be redirected and visit instead.

There’s time that you need to redirect a domain name, especially when a company starts to grow bigger, and realizes that it needs another brand.

In fact, domain/URL Redirect can be done easily at your cPanel. Let us show you how simple it is to create one.

Step 1.

Login to cPanel.

Step 2

Click on the ‘Redirect’ icon at the Domains tab.


Step 3

Choose if you want to create a Permanent (301), or Temporary (302) redirect by clicking the drop down box.

Step 4

Select the domain you wish to redirect.


Step 5

Fill in the box next to slash (/) with the folder name you are currently using.  You may leave it blank if you wish to redirect the original domain name.


Step 6

Choose default – “Redirect without www. Or with www.”

Step 7

Check the box if you wish to create a Wild Card Redirect. This will add the the same folder name after the URL when it redirects. For example, will redirect its visitors to


Step 8

You’ve successfully setup a domain/URL redirect when you see the message below.


“Congratulations, you have created a domain/URL redirect!”
